AT A GLANCE
No account required. Your 20 most recent search reports stay on your device and can be cleared in Settings.
Online requests go to ESPN or Bing. Supported summaries are generated on your device.
The current app includes no ads or third-party analytics SDKs. External services and article publishers have their own data practices.
1. Who we are and what this covers
This policy explains how the Metaesport developer handles information in the Metaesport iPhone and iPad app and on this informational website. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to hello@metaesport.com.
The app provides basketball scores, schedules, player statistics, news, and web search, with optional on-device summaries. No Metaesport account is required.
2. Information stored on your device
The app saves up to 20 recent search reports in its local app storage. A report can include your query, selected time range, retrieved article titles, links and previews, sports data, a retrieval timestamp, and an optional generated summary.
These reports are not uploaded to a Metaesport server and are marked to be excluded from system backups. Once the limit is reached, newer saved reports replace older ones. Reports otherwise remain until you clear the history or delete the app.
To remove them, open the app’s Settings, select Clear search history, then confirm Clear history. Choose Delete App, rather than offloading, to remove the app and its local data. Clearing local history does not remove records independently held by an external provider.
3. Online requests and external services
Internet access is needed to retrieve fresh information. Requests go directly from your device to the services below; the current app does not route them through a Metaesport backend.
- Sports data and news — ESPN: the app requests public scores, schedules, game summaries, and recent news. Requests can include dates, team IDs, or game IDs. Recent news is filtered on your device.
- Web search — Microsoft Bing: broader searches, and NBA news searches that fall back to web search, send your query to Bing. A fallback query can also include the selected team or player name and “NBA.”
- Articles you choose to open: original articles open in an in-app Safari browser. The publisher receives the visit and may use cookies or other technologies under its own policy.
External services receive ordinary connection information, including your IP address and request details, and may retain logs or infer an approximate location. Their storage, uses, cookies, and deletion processes are governed by their policies. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement and Disney / ESPN Privacy Policy. Check the publisher’s policy when opening an article.
We use these requests to deliver the information you ask for. Avoid including passwords, contact details, or sensitive personal information in search queries. You can stop making online requests by stopping a search, leaving the app, or disconnecting its internet access. Existing provider records are subject to that provider’s deletion process.
4. On-device summaries
When supported and available, the app uses Apple’s on-device language model to summarize retrieved article previews or sports data. The query and relevant source material are processed locally for that summary. The app does not send prompts, article previews, or generated summaries to a remote AI service for generation.
Summaries require a compatible device with Apple Intelligence enabled and its system resources ready. Scores and search results remain available without summaries. Generated text can be inaccurate; check the original sources.
5. Accounts, tracking, and device permissions
The current app includes no advertising, third-party analytics SDKs, or developer-operated tracking. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, health data, or precise device location, and does not request an advertising identifier.
These statements describe the Metaesport app. They do not mean that an external search provider or a publisher you visit collects no information. Apple may process platform diagnostics under its own policies and your system settings.
6. Information you send for support
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any attachments or details you choose to provide. We use that information to answer your request, investigate the issue, and handle relevant privacy requests. It is handled through the email service used for support and is not used by us for advertising or sold by us.
Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve and follow up on the request, or to meet applicable legal obligations. To request access, correction, or deletion, email hello@metaesport.com. Do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive data. We may ask for information needed to verify a request before acting on it.
7. This website
The site serves static pages and includes no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, embedded third-party content, remote fonts, or application cookies. Language selection uses ordinary page links and does not create a stored profile.
When the site is hosted, its hosting provider receives ordinary connection information such as IP address, requested page, and browser information to serve and secure the site. Any infrastructure logging and retention depend on that provider and its service settings. Email links open your email application; this site does not submit a contact form.
8. Security, retention, and your choices
The app’s sports and search requests use HTTPS. Saved reports use iOS app storage and system file protection. The app’s bundled web interface uses a non-persistent web data store. An external article may have separate browser or publisher data. No transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security.
You control local reports through Settings. For information you have sent to us, you can request access, correction, or deletion and, where applicable, restriction or objection to processing. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it by contacting us. Your legal rights vary by location; you may also contact your local data protection authority. Requests concerning data retained independently by Bing, ESPN, or an article publisher should be directed to that provider.
External services may process information in countries other than yours. This policy does not set their retention periods or replace their privacy policies.
9. Children’s privacy
Metaesport is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through support. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it and delete information where appropriate.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this page if the app’s data practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate. For questions about this policy or your information, contact the Metaesport developer at hello@metaesport.com.
